I am constantly songwriting, music producing, engineering and DJ’ing, pursuing these arts in the belief that creativity is the ultimate form of human expression and joy.
I began classical piano training in middle school and at college level completed a Sound Engineering Audio Training Certificate at the Inhouse Audio Training Institute in Johannesburg, South Africa. I then completed a Berklee Online Professional Certificate in Music Theory, Ear Training and Harmony. Equipped with these qualifications I worked in television media as a junior music composer for television show theme music and jingles and wrote for music libraries including Urban Rhythm Factory and had his first TV show original theme song sync on the popular TV show How To (Wenza Kanjani) at age 21. I also worked in radio sound design and production at Sonovision Studios as a sound engineer/designer focusing on radio jingles/adverts.
I’ve Dj’d extensively in clubs, weddings, birthday parties, corporate functions and private events and even made trips to Ibiza, considered the party capital of the world. I receiving jazz piano tutelage for 4 years with renowned South African jazz pianist Andile Yenana(Standard Bank Young Artist of the Year Award recipient). I wrote music for the SAMA (South African Music Award)2011 winning(Best African Alternative) album “Nomisupasta” by Nomsa Mazwai, and have traveled and performed with various theatrical and musical groups in countries such as Ethiopia, Mozambique, Norway, Spain and the US.
Upon completing studies art Berklee College of Music I worked as a music producer and engineer with the renowned mix engineer Tony Maserati (Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Robin Thicke) under his umbrella production/studio company Mirrorball Entertainment in which as an assistant I made contributions to Grammy winning/nominated albums such as Beyonce’s Lemonade, Keith Urban’s Ripcord and Gallants Ology.
As a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, dual majoring in Contemporary Writing & Production and Music Production & Engineering with a minor in Writing Music for TV and New Media, I find no better opportune and active place than Los Angeles to apply my music and dj craft, and professionally pursue these arts.
